How to use WinFlash to install BIOS update on Lenovo Y710 IdeaPad systems:
Follow the instructions provided below:
1. Download the BIOS flash package from the BIOS update website.
(Note: Download to the Desktop for ease of location.)
2. Ensure that the AC adapter is connected to the system and that the battery is at least 25% charged.
3. Right click on the BIOS flash package and choose 'Run as administrator'
(Note: Double clicking on the BIOS flash package will not allow this program to properly execute in Windows Vista.)
4. Windows Vista will pop up a User Account Control window, Click on Allow to proceed.
5. Windows will pop-up a self-extracting window, click on the 'Install' button.
6. A warning window will be displayed to remind the user to ensure the BIOS is being installed on the correct system, and that all user data should be saved and programs closed.
7. If the battery level is too low, or the AC adapter is not connected, a pop up message will appear and the program needs to be started again.
8. Click on the 'OK' button, BIOS update flashing program will run automatically.
(Note: Please wait until the BIOS update flashing program completes installation.)
9. When the BIOS update is complete, the system will reboot automatically. |
